Lisa's cj

Wow, 2 posts in 1 day. I'm on a roll!

Here are Lisa's cj pages and sign-in tag. Lots of bright colors going on here.

I used my Cricut Going Places cartridge for the road sign.
And while I was at it, I even created a full size 12x12 lo. I haven't done one of those in ages. I used paper from a newly acquired K&Company paper stack. I also used a couple of those adorable corduroy brads from Stampin' Up. Melissa will be so proud of me for actually using them as opposed to only collecting them.
This is us at Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL. That's my mother-in-law, Emma, with us in front of the elephant exhibit. She loves elephants so this was a treat for her.
Okey dokey, off to take advantage of that roll I'm on and keep creating.
Wishing you a nice night.

Baseball Mini Album

Hi, everyone. Thanks for popping in to see what's doing on my blog. Hope you are all having a great day.
As promised, here is the 2nd mini album I created. This one was about my son's baseball season this spring. Again, I had a lot of fun making this one but what's not fun about scrapbooking, right?

Well, I have to run for now. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Oklahoma!

Well, I have been a busy little girl this weekend. I managed to complete 2 mini albums. That's right, kiddies! TWO! Yay for me! I had such a good time. My hands were stained brown from the distressing ink. There were paper and ribbon bits all over the floor. Even the couch had supplies strewn all over it. Oh, what a ball I had!

Here are pictures of the one I did of my trip to Oklahoma last month. I even bought this mini in OK at a great lss Lisa and I visited. I had a great time working on this mini which is fitting since I had such a great time in OK.
Here is Lisa's furball, Kiara. What a sweetie! Just darling!
I found out that they make spring loaded umbrellas for golf clubs. Who knew? Meet Zoey and Nikki. More cute furballs. Zoey belongs to Jess and Nikki belongs to David's aunt, LouAnn, whom I also got to meet.
Here are Emma, Matt, Jess and Josh. And, of course, David and Lisa. Very handsome bunch, right? Notice my crocheted flowers.

Ain't she pretty?

Can't go to OK and not take pictures of cows. Lisa was kind enough to stop on the side of the road so I could take these pictures and the cows were only too kind enough to pose for me. Before you go wondering, the snake was dead but I did make Lisa stop so I could take a picture of it. How could I not? The thing was lying right there in the middle of the street.
We were on our way to the airport but Lisa spotted this sight up on a hill where a Church was and she made a quick stop to allow me some prime picture taking. What luck to find a covered wagon, campfire and teepee all in one convenient place.
These pictures are from my trip to OK last August.
Here is a pretty little B&B.
There's that teepee I mentioned above. It was very cool seeing this. I'd never seen one in real life before so it was a real treat for me. Thanks for stopping, Lisa.
Thanks for giving me such great trips, Lisa. Because of you I have wonderful memories and now I have a nifty little album to remind me of your kindnesses.
Hope you enjoyed! Come back soon. Remember, I have another mini that I'll be posting.
Have a great night.
Oh, and Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there and to the moms who do both jobs!

Proud Mommy

I'm a very proud mom today. I was strutting my proud mommy feathers last night as Logan was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society for the second year in a row. It was a nice ceremony complete with the singing of the National Anthem by a graduating student who did a good job at such a hard song and candle lightings symbolizing things such as knowledge, scholarship, citizenship and character.

There were 130 new students inducted last night of which the principal was very proud as were the parents, naturally. Because of the amount of kids being inducted last night, the auditorium of the school was standing room only and a few of the parents I was sitting with and I all agreed they should have had a ceremony for each grade rather than doing it all at once because it was so very crowded and hot in the auditorium. Many parents couldn't even make it into the auditorium and were forced to stand in the vestibule. Perhaps they will do it differently next year. I'll make a teeny suggestion to the principal tonight when I see her at the pta elections at which I'll be re-running for the treasurer position.

Here is the certificate my son received last night. This is a picture of my son just after he received his award last week for high honors within his academy. This was a separate award ceremony. My darn camera is so slow to take the picture that I missed him shaking hands with the Dean as he received his award.

This is a picture of him debuting his trombone playing. He is the second from the left. Sorry for the darkness of the picture. I was kind of far away and the flash didn't offer enough light. This was at the award ceremony last week. He only started playing the trombone just this past October as did most of the kids in the band. They did an amazing job on the 3 songs that they played. I had tears in my eyes as they played and I wasn't alone. A few of the parents standing along side of me got all misty too.
This is when they stood for their much deserved applause. Parents were cheering and it was a great moment for them.
Here is a picture of Logan at his last regular season game this past Monday night. They lost this game but they start the playoffs tomorrow night.

And here are some of the rest of the team. Not all of the kids showed for the pictures so there are a bunch missing.

And of course, here is Raven. She is exploring my pocketbook here. She's growing so fast and is just as adorable as you'd expect a kitten to be. Is this what they mean when they say the cat's in the bag?
Oh and take a look at why my red impatiens are not doing so well. Could it be the black cat who's made my flowerbox her own personal perch? This is Raven's mother, Jet. She's looking mighty comfortable, isn't she? Talk about getting busted! Gotcha!
So, as you can see, it's been a busy couple of weeks but they have been filled with some wonderful stuff. I'm so very proud of my son. He is the joy of my life.
Thank you for visiting!

Club Getaway

Hello, everyone. Hope you are enjoying the month of June so far. I can't believe half the year is gone already. Only 17 days left of school and 7th grade will be done. Mom wasn't kidding when she said, "once they start school, the years fly by". God rest her.

Logan went on a school trip last week to a resort located in upstate New York called Club Getaway. I'd never heard of it before this but he said it was a great place and he had a lot of fun. I wasn't able to go on this trip so another mom was kind enough to take some pics of him for me. Thanks, Maria!
Here he is rock wall climbing.
Chess, anyone?
Chess not your game? Ok, how about some bungy-ing?
As you can see, he really did have a lot of fun. I can tell you this, I certainly never went on trips to places like this when I was young. Lucky kid, isn't he?
Our newest addition who has yet to be named is doing well. We've had her a week and she's already grown some. She is jumping off the couch and showing her fearless but playful little personality. We all have lots of fun laughing at her cuteness as she explores the house. We've trained her to lap her kitten replacement milk from a small dish but here's a pic of Jim feeding her while she was still on the bottle. Precious, isn't she?
Oh and I thought I'd show you how well my flowers are doing on my porch. They're filling out nicely.
Well, lunch is half over and I have to run.
Wishing you a happy day!
